🔗 Share this article The Baldur's Gate 3 Creators Unveil a New Divinity, Labeling it Their Biggest RPG to Date The buzz about The Game Awards was significant, especially after host Geoff Keighley posted a puzzling photo of a desert monolith. The question is finally answered. Larian Studios is creating a fresh Divinity game. Titled simply Divinity, the game was presented with a audacious trailer that included striking imagery, from a burning man to an orgy and the literal opening of infernal gates. A Different Direction Anyone expecting Divinity Original Sin 3, prepare for a surprise. Larian warned that a third Original Sin game to its beloved RPGs is not being worked on now. That said, the developer referred to this new Divinity as a evolution of the core franchise. This distinction hints that the team is likely designing a more action-oriented experience rather than another turn-based title. At this moment, we can only guess, as only a cinematic trailer is available. A Pillar of Modern RPGs The Divinity series is highly rated and arguably it sparked the recent resurgence of deep computer role-playing games. These games are known for rich lore, choice-driven narratives, and complex character building—traits that later found massive success in games like Baldur's Gate 3. While its world is traditional swords and sorcery, what truly sets Divinity apart is the unprecedented level of trust granted to the player. While numerous modern RPGs have pared back options, Divinity is full of unique possibilities that are viable by choosing a particular class or origin with a specific history of choices. The series is also famously open-ended, enabling players to improvise in narrative and gameplay. Nearly every quest can be solved in diverse methods, sometimes in lateral fashion. You might find an answer because you heeded something a dog told you. Or, you could bypass a challenge by using the world itself in a clever way. More to Come It is precisely these elements that have cemented the series to label games like Divinity Original Sin 2 as among the greatest role-playing games in history. Now, players can look forward to another adventure in this groundbreaking franchise.
