It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have long been mastered.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the peak baggers, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batters to maintain a record if never given the opportunity.

What's clear is this century was considerably tougher to anticipate.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and after that the right-hander was underway.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was dismissed Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the assurance to do that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, should it happen, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this tournament should hear.

In recent days a sense they will win from any position has become more firm - this triumph coming after success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wished she had played despite the injury.

However although she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have postponed thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is likely to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as skipper.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
